Hi guys! Summer vacation is finally here! It’s the prefect time for sun and sand and to wear those cute sun dresses and shorts. :)) But with it comes comes the sometimes intolerable heat and with the heat comes some certain health hazards.
Here are some tips to stay healthy through the summer! :D
Avoid wearing dark colors like black and dark red. These colors trap or absorb heat instead of reflecting it. This makes our body temperature increase and makes us prone to heat stroke.
Wear pastel colors like yellow, baby blue, baby pink since these colors don’t trap heat.
DRINK LOTS AND LOTS OF WATER. More than 8 glasses per day. Make it a habit! This summer drink lots and lots of water since we sweat more due to the heat and therefore more prone to dehydration.
Use sunblock always. The sun has very harmful UV rays which can damage our skin. Better to put on a layer of protection! ;)
Sun is healthy from 7 am - 9 am only. It can be harmful for the skin and may cause sunburn if prolonged exposure from 10 am onwards.
If you are on the beach, reapply sunblock once every hour or every two hours for protection.
Wear hats to protect your head and hair from extreme heat
Use conditioner for your hair always. The heat can dry out the hair causing it to be brittle and prone to breakage.
Go easy on the sweets! :) I know it’s summer and it’s fun to eat ice cream and other cold, sweet beverages but not too much okay? 
Be active! I know it’s vacation and most of us are feeling lazy but hey, it’s also the perfect opportunity to hone that beach body so that you can shamelessly wear that two piece. :))
Get enough sleep. I know it’s vacation and most of us sleep later than 12 am. But know that there are harmful effects if you lack sleep or sleep in late.
Eat healthily! Eat lots of vegetables and fruits, meat, milk, etc. Junk food is okay but not too much! :)
